About the Odd Fellows
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows was started on the North America Continent in 1819. Lodges in Missouri were started in the 1830's, and the Windsor Lodge was founded on May 20, 1868. The Windsor Lodge has met ever Thursday since that time.
In addition to their Commandment to Visit the Sick, Relieve the distressed, Bury the Dead, and Educate the Orphan, which is a Commandment of all Odd Fellows, Members of the 'Windsor Lodge are very active in the social affairs of the Windsor area. The building and operation of the F L & T Rail Road for children is just one such undertaking. The Lodge sponsors the Windsor Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Parade, Halloween Downtown and provides funds to send a boy to Boy's State and girl to Girl's State each year. The Lodge through its members provides support to various community activities and organizations such as: Friends of the Park, Youth Baseball and Softball programs, Kids Fishing Day, Windsor Graduation Party, After-Prom Committee, Windsor Septemberfest and Moonlight Madness. The Lodge actively supports the Odd Fellow's Educational Foundation. Twice a year, normal in May and October the Lodge holds a bar-b-que as its major fundraisers.
What Are Odd Fellows
We are a fraternity of people who stand for family values and meet to have fun and fellowship. We are the oldest fraternal Order with Lodges throughout the United States and much of the World.
We are people working to do good together and "to improve and elevate the character of mankind" by doing works of benevolence and charity. We do "not believe in the division and classifications of society." Our laws disallow strife, discord, party or sect. We believe that "Friendship, Love and Truth" are the best safeguards against the ills of life.
We are an established part of our community and continue a long tradition of service and fellowship.
